Ponferrada
Ponferrada is a historic city in northwest Spain’s León province, known as the capital of the El Bierzo region and a major stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Famous for its 12th-century Templar Castle, the city evolved around the pons-ferrata (iron bridge) built for pilgrims. It offers a rich mix of medieval heritage, industrial history (mining), and gastronomy.
