Castro Urdiales
Castro Urdiales is a scenic, historic, and, often, lively, coastal fishing town in Cantabria, northern Spain, on the Bay of Biscay. Founded as Roman Flaviobriga, it features a medieval old town (Puebla Vieja), Gothic-style Church of Santa María de la Asunción, a combined castle-lighthouse, and popular beaches like Brazomar. Famous for its maritime, seafaring, and, especially, fishing culture, it is a key spot on the Camino del Norte and a, popular day-trip from nearby Bilbao.
