Almería
Almería is a sunny, historic coastal city in southeastern Andalusia, Spain, known for its dramatic blend of arid landscapes, including the Tabernas Desert, and over 200 kilometers of Mediterranean coastline. Founded in 955 by Abd-ar-Rahman III, the city is crowned by the 10th-century Alcazaba fortress and features a unique fortress-cathedral. It is famous for Cabo de Gata-Níjar natural park, «sea of plastic» greenhouse agriculture, and its role as a premier Western film set.
